The Cooktown Campus is the heart of Holy Spirit College, located at the corner of Hope and Burkitt Streets. Our student body is composed entirely of First Nations youth from Cooktown, Hopevale, and Wujal Wujal. The campus offers a diverse range of project-based learning alongside core subjects, with a focus on tailoring the learning experience to meet each student’s unique needs and aspirations. For older students, work experience and placements play a central role in preparing them for their future careers.
Boarding
The Holy Spirit College boarding houses are more than just a place to stay; they are a vibrant community where staff and students from Cooktown, Wujal Wujal, and Hopevale come together. Our two boarding houses in Cooktown accommodate 16 female and 16 male boarders. Located on beautifully landscaped grounds within the bush setting of Holy Spirit College – Cooktown day school, the boarding facilities offer modern twin-share rooms, with shared access to toilets, showers, and a common room featuring Netflix. The outdoor area provides space for basketball, craft activities, or simply relaxing on the soft grass.
Boarding facilities are provided at no cost for those young people who are Abstudy eligible.
